I kicked the year off with a win in the Elite category, at the Australian national championships, which were held in February down in Canberra. Elite is the second most difficult category in Australia and is open to both male and female competitors. Being the only female competitor, I was faced with a tough competition with rain threatening to add another element of danger to the already difficult obstacles, not to mention the strong field of competitors I was up against. By riding a consistent and strategic race, I finished the day on 14pts, ahead of 2nd place Le Hua (18pts) and 3rd place Matt Harding (19pts). It was a fantastic result on my Trialtech equipped bike! After the event, I had some fun filming with SBS cycling central who did a cool piece on what Trials is and how my competition went. You can check out the video here.
